Yorkshires Premier Rock Covers Band

A (not so) Brief History of Time...

Born a few years ago, (before Thatcher was Prime Minister, after Dinosaurs became extinct!) and started playing bass around the same time as he first, really, got into rock music. He'd been exposed to rock music in some early forms just from his parents (The Beatles, Rolling Stones), and from listening to the Old Record Club on Radio 1 every Sunday afternoon. But, it was while at High School that he was introduced to the music of Black Sabbath, and his life was changed forever!

A friend had an older brother into Sabbath, Rainbow etc, and one lunchtime Goddzi, Paul Greaves (the one with the brother into rock), and Adrian Jagger (the friend who suggested they play bass) went round to 'Greavesy's' house and listened to Sabbaths album, 'Live at Last'. The first track Paul put on, was actually the final track on the album, 'Paranoid'. And Goddzi and Adrian were hooked immediately!

After that day, all Sabbaths Ozzy era albums were duly, one per week, bought and listened to death...to. After that, came the Ozzy solo albums, the first Goddzi bought was the new one, 'Bark at the Moon'.

Soon after, somehow (I know not now, how, where or by whom), Goddzi was introduced to another form of rock music, Punk! In the shape of a band called, Sex Pistols.

So, having bought a bass with Jagger, they set about teaching themselves to play. Learning from the likes of Geezer Butler, Steve Harris, Cliff Williams (AC/DC for the uninitiated) et al, they managed to pick up quite a repertoire of riffs between them.

At the same time, Paul Greaves had begun to learn guitar. He wanted to form a band, and for one reason or another, (now lost in the mists of time, otherwise known as 'I've slept since then!' LOL), he asked Goddzi to be bassist in his band.

They found a drummer called Phil Munt, and a singer called Bic. This band became known as Terragon. (Later changed to Wildcat mere weeks before disbanding altogether!) They played their first gig at Honley Youth Club, among a line up of other bands comprised of some of their friends from School and College...read more...(but, I'm warning you, there's quite a lot!)
